The Varsity Panthers opened up the season on the road at Coventry (Turkeyfoot Lanes). With 3 returning lettermen and 4 new bowlers on Varsity, the Panthers looked to improve on to last seasons 8-10 record in the PTC. The Panthers were led by Nate Merrill with a 399 series (192 & 207). Also rolling for the Panthers were Jacob Ramsey with a 339 series (171 & 168), Jayce Norman with a 321 series (149 & 172), Caleb Campbell with a 317 series (159 & 158), Josh Heath with a 148 game and a sub score of 129.
The Comets jumped out to an early 41 pin lead (860-819) in the first Team Game. The Panthers took a 10 pin lead by out rolling the Comets 834-783 in the second Team Game. Heading into the Baker Games, the Panthers led 1653-1643.
In the Baker Games, the Comets gained the win by shooting a 570 series (192, 213 & 165) to the Panthers 553 series (191, 158 & 204). The Panthers dropped to (0-1) with the loss to the Comets.
